Hydrodemolition Equipment

September 1, 2022/in Company News

What equipment is needed on the worksite?

The star of the show is the Conjet ACR™ robot but like any star, it would be nothing without the band. The band consists of a high-pressure pump and a water treatment system. Here you can read more about what hydrodemolition equipment that is needed on the worksite for the hydrodemolition process.

Safety first!

The biggest challenge on all work sites where concrete is being removed, or even demolished, is to secure work and health safety for the operators. Due to the fact that our hydrodemolition ACR™ robots are able to operate from a distance to the concrete removal location, greatly reduces dust and noise pollution, and eliminates vibrations, they are among the safest concrete removal methods in the industry.

The robot

The Conjet ACR™ robot’s task in the hydrodemolition process is to move the lance assembly over the surface in a pre-determined pattern. The pattern is set by the operator. After completing the start-up routine, the operator can load a saved set of parameters or enter new parameters on the ACR™ robot, either directly on the robot’s display or using the handheld remote control. The operator then positions the robot and starts the automated concrete removal process from a safe distance of 15-30 feet (5-10 meters).

The robot then operates autonomously according to the chosen parameters, working its way in a straight line, in a curve, or in a circle, while the operator monitors and supervises the process.

The pump

The robot needs water to be able to perform hydrodemolition and needs to be connected to a high-pressure pump – a powerpack. The Conjet ACR™ robots operate seamlessly with the powerpack thanks to the steering system, Conjet ONE. The Conjet ONE system makes it possible to control both the robot and the pump remotely using the wireless radio control box. All operations can be communicated from the control box or from the display on the robot, resulting in shorter start-up times, safer and more precise operations, and better results.

Water treatment system

When using the hydrodemolition technology, water consumption and disposal of water and solids are factors to be considered. That is why all hydrodemolition robots are operated together with a sufficient system for water treatment.

The main items to be considered for water treatment in connection to restoration of concrete structures are suspended material, pH adjustment and other pollutants such as organics and anhydrous substances / metals.

New guide about hydrodemolition

May 31, 2022/in Company News

For over 35 years, we have led the development of robotic hydrodemolition technology – a technology with a proven track record as the most sustainable and effective method for concrete removal and other types of surface preparation.

We know that hydrodemolition is the best technique when repairing damaged concrete. In our mission to educate and spread the word about hydrodemolition we have teamed up with our friends at Aquajet and EWJI (European Water Jet Institute) to create a shared material about hydrodemolition. And now we can proudly present the guide “Why use Hydrodemolition?”.

Robert Kreicberg, CEO, stated,

“We have a common interest of increasing the awareness and understanding of  hydrodemolition as a method and concept and to highlight all the advantages that comes with it. The content of the guide is of objective nature, focusing on the benefits of hydrodemolition as a superior technique for concrete demolition & removal, and we hope you will find the guide useful and informative.”

Hydrodemolition technology using the tensile strength of the water that, in combination with high pressure, penetrates the concrete, creating an over-pressure that “blasts” the concrete away. We have incorporated our amazing technology and long experience into our state-of-the-art hydrodemolition robots which enables you to do the work of up to 25 jackhammer operators, reducing cost and increasing productivity and safety. Some of the other advantages using hydrodemolition are:

  • OPTIMAL BOND Does not create micro-cracks in the remaining structure, which ensures that the repair will be long lasting and high quality.
  • SUSTAINABILITY Extends the useful life of the structure. Eliminates vibrations and dust; dramatically reduces noise.
  • PRECISION Allows selective removal of damaged concrete only, or non-selective removal to a predetermined depth.

You can read and download the guide here.

If you have further questions related to the conctent in general or specifically regarding our technology ACR™ (Automated Concrete Removal) Robots, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to support you!
